Kerala-based quick commerce platform KiranaPro has acquired Likeo, an AI-powered startup specializing in virtual try-on technology, in an all-stock deal valued at $1 million (INR 8.55 crore). The strategic acquisition aims to enhance the customer experience on KiranaPro’s newly launched online fashion marketplace, BLACK, by integrating Likeo’s advanced augmented reality (AR) tech stack.

Launched on May 16, 2025, and available on the Google Play Store, BLACK is KiranaPro’s ambitious foray into India’s competitive fashion ecommerce segment. With this acquisition, KiranaPro is set to offer users a more immersive shopping experience through a virtual trial room feature that will span across apparel, jewellery, and eyewear categories.

Bringing Next-Gen Shopping to Indian Consumers

The integration of Likeo’s AR and AI capabilities will allow users to try on products virtually before making a purchase, significantly reducing return rates and increasing buyer confidence. This move aligns with a broader trend in ecommerce, where companies are adopting AI-driven visual computing solutions to replicate offline shopping experiences in digital spaces.

By enhancing product visualization and interactivity, KiranaPro is positioning BLACK to stand out in a market dominated by established players like Myntra, Ajio, and Amazon Fashion.

Strategic Acquisition to Bolster AI and Visual Tech Capabilities

As part of the acquisition, Likeo’s founder and CEO, Saurav Kumar, will join KiranaPro to lead initiatives in AI and visual computing for the BLACK fashion marketplace. Kumar’s expertise will be critical in scaling Likeo’s technology and integrating it seamlessly with KiranaPro’s ecommerce and logistics infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to join KiranaPro and bring Likeo’s cutting-edge tech to a wider audience. Together, we aim to revolutionize how Indian consumers experience fashion online,” said Saurav Kumar.

This acquisition marks a key step in KiranaPro’s strategy to differentiate BLACK through technology-first innovation, catering to the evolving expectations of digital-native consumers in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.

The Rise of Virtual Try-On in Indian Ecommerce

Virtual try-on technology is rapidly gaining traction in India as fashion ecommerce continues to grow. By enabling real-time product visualization, AR-based solutions help overcome one of the biggest pain points in online fashion shopping—lack of physical interaction with products.

With BLACK’s integration of Likeo’s tech, users can expect a more personalized and engaging shopping journey. This is expected to improve conversion rates, customer retention, and ultimately, increase overall marketplace profitability.

KiranaPro’s Growing Digital Ecosystem

KiranaPro, initially known for its quick commerce solutions, is now expanding into niche verticals such as fashion with a strong emphasis on technology and user experience. The acquisition of Likeo reflects KiranaPro’s long-term vision to build a holistic, AI-enabled digital retail ecosystem.

As BLACK gears up to compete with top ecommerce platforms, KiranaPro is betting on innovation, personalization, and immersive shopping experiences to attract the next generation of online fashion consumers in India.
