Every strong entrepreneurial journey begins with awareness, but only a few evolve into the creation of complete ecosystems. Mr. Pankaj Mishra’s journey reflects this rare transition—from identifying problems within existing systems to building integrated solutions that reshape industries. As the Founder of the P N D Group, which includes P N D Global Logistics, P N D Maritime Pvt. Ltd., and the FMCG brand Bakeats, he has demonstrated how thoughtful leadership, operational control, and long-term intent can transform challenges into scalable opportunities.
Pankaj Mishra’s story did not start with business ambitions but with a deep-rooted inclination toward learning and self-discipline. An introverted schoolboy, he grew up observing more than speaking, analysing situations rather than reacting to them. This quiet curiosity later translated into academic excellence. He pursued Mechanical Engineering and went on to earn a Gold Medal in Industrial Engineering and Management, achievements that reflected his natural alignment with systems, efficiency, and process optimisation. These early years laid the foundation for his problem-solving mindset.
His professional journey began in the corporate world, where he worked with organisations such as Wipro, Lava International, and Delhivery. These experiences exposed him to structured environments, large teams, and the complexities of supply chain and logistics management. More importantly, they allowed him to witness recurring inefficiencies—delays caused by fragmented operations, excessive dependency on intermediaries, and a lack of end-to-end accountability. These observations gradually shaped his belief that many business challenges were not due to lack of effort, but due to poorly designed systems.
Alongside his corporate career, Pankaj also spent a meaningful phase teaching engineering students while preparing for the Services Selection Board examinations. Teaching sharpened his communication skills and reinforced his belief that clarity creates confidence. Preparing for defence services strengthened his discipline, patience, and resilience. Yet, despite the respect and stability these paths offered, the desire to build something of his own remained persistent. He believed that creating opportunities and impact through enterprise was his true calling.
At the age of 32, guided by this conviction, Pankaj Mishra took the entrepreneurial leap. Along with his co-founder, Mr. Amit Chaudhary, he decided to address a problem he had experienced repeatedly during his corporate years—the inefficiency created by third-party dependency in logistics. Businesses lacked control over timelines, costs, and service quality. This realisation led to the formation of P N D Global Logistics on 2nd August 2019, with an initial capital investment of ₹50 lakhs and a clear objective: to offer end-to-end logistics solutions under one roof.
The early phase of P N D Global Logistics was marked by uncertainty and challenge. Navigating regulatory frameworks, managing finances, and building credibility in a competitive industry tested the founders’ resolve. As a first-generation entrepreneur without a business background, Pankaj faced skepticism from peers and industry stakeholders. Many questioned the decision to leave a stable career for an unpredictable future. However, patience, consistency, and attention to detail became his strongest allies. Rather than seeking rapid expansion, he focused on execution excellence.
One of the most decisive strategic moves was directly registering with major shipping lines, thereby eliminating unnecessary intermediaries. This approach gave P N D Global Logistics greater operational control, transparency in pricing, and improved reliability. Clients began to experience smoother customs clearances, faster cargo movement, and reduced friction across processes. Over time, these outcomes translated into trust, allowing the company to grow organically. Today, P N D Global Logistics operates as a profitable enterprise with a turnover of ₹35 crore, serving businesses across multiple sectors.
The company’s strength lies in its comprehensive service offering. From freight forwarding and shipping to customs clearance and documentation, P N D Global Logistics manages the entire logistics lifecycle. Its expertise spans air and ocean transport for full container loads, less-than-container loads, over-dimension cargo, and perishable goods. With 24×7 customs clearance support and strong liaison with Customs, CBEC, and DGFT, the company ensures minimal disruption in import and export operations. Capabilities in FTWZ and SEZ zones further strengthen its value proposition.
As P N D Global Logistics scaled, Pankaj Mishra identified another gap within the logistics value chain—container dependency. Container shortages and fluctuating availability often disrupted global trade. To address this, he launched P N D Maritime Pvt. Ltd., enabling the group to operate company-owned cargo containers. This strategic expansion enhanced control, stability, and predictability for clients, reinforcing the group’s commitment to building a fully integrated logistics ecosystem rather than remaining dependent on external variables.
While logistics formed the backbone of the P N D Group, Pankaj’s entrepreneurial vision extended into consumer markets. The launch of Bakeats marked the group’s entry into FMCG manufacturing, driven by a belief that quality food products should not be limited by price or geography. Bakeats was conceived to deliver export-quality bakery products to both domestic and international markets, challenging the status quo of the mass-market bakery segment.
Manufactured in a fully in-house facility in Noida with a production capacity of approximately 14 tonnes in 24 hours, Bakeats places strong emphasis on hygiene, freshness, and consistency. The brand’s strict no-palm-oil philosophy and use of premium ingredients reflect its commitment to clean and responsible manufacturing. Despite being only five months old, Bakeats has already launched multiple cookie variants and rusks, gaining rapid traction through domestic distribution and exports.
Bakeats also aligns strongly with the Made in India vision. By exporting Indian-made bakery products to markets such as the UAE and New Zealand, the brand showcases India’s manufacturing capability on a global platform. At the same time, it ensures that Indian consumers have access to the same export-level quality, reinforcing the belief that quality should be universal, not selective.
Beyond business performance, the impact of the P N D Group is deeply rooted in people. With over 100 employees across logistics operations and manufacturing units, the organisation supports the livelihoods and aspirations of numerous families. Pankaj Mishra views employment generation as a responsibility that comes with entrepreneurship. His leadership style reflects a modern, millennial approach—open, collaborative, and solution-driven.
Pankaj believes that leadership is not about authority but about enabling others to perform. He is known for being an active listener and a problem solver, focusing on solutions rather than assigning blame. This approach has fostered trust and loyalty within the organisation, allowing teams to grow alongside the business. Many individuals within the group have evolved professionally as the organisation has expanded, reinforcing his belief that people are the foundation of sustainable growth.
The entrepreneurial journey has also been shaped by personal responsibilities and challenges. Balancing family commitments with the pressures of building a business required discipline and emotional resilience. These experiences strengthened Pankaj’s focus and reinforced the importance of staying grounded. He believes that time, when managed with patience and consistency, rewards those who remain committed to their vision.
Inspired by leaders such as Ratan Tata, whose values, humility, and long-term thinking continue to influence him, Pankaj Mishra remains committed to building brands that earn trust over time. His learnings from entrepreneurship emphasise adaptability, stepping out of comfort zones, and the importance of building strong teams alongside strong products.
Looking ahead, the future of the P N D Group is defined by expansion with control. Plans include increasing the container fleet under P N D Maritime, strengthening global trade routes, and scaling Bakeats into a nationally recognised FMCG brand with a strong export footprint. Each growth decision is guided by the principle that systems must be built before scale is pursued.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Pankaj Mishra’s advice is grounded in experience. Observe deeply, understand problems end to end, and build solutions with patience. There is no single playbook for success, but clarity of intent and consistency of action create lasting impact.
Through the P N D Group, Pankaj Mishra has evolved from a problem solver into an ecosystem builder. His journey demonstrates that when businesses are built with control, discipline, and purpose, they not only grow—but endure.
