For Sudipta Kesar, English is more than a language—it’s a bridge to opportunity, confidence, and self-expression. This belief is at the core of Sudipta’s English Academy, a home-grown initiative she launched in April 2023, determined to make English learning accessible, practical, and inspiring.
Her journey began years earlier, shaped by a fascination with English films, music, and literature. Yet, she also saw the limitations of conventional teaching—students spending years in classrooms but emerging unable to speak fluently or confidently. That gap in the system became her motivation to create something different.
Armed with a Master’s Level Certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the London College of Teachers and Trainers, Sudipta built her academy on principles that defy the norm. Instead of rigid schedules and heavy grammar drills, her classes are flexible, interactive, and rooted in real-world usage. Lessons often begin at 8 PM, perfectly timed for busy professionals. Small batch sizes, interactive activities, and personalised guidance ensure that no learner is left behind.
“Language learning is not a sprint—it’s a journey,” she often reminds her students. “Discipline matters, but so does patience. The goal is progress, not perfection.”
The path to building her academy was not without challenges. Many learners arrived expecting instant results, underestimating the time and practice required. Sudipta met these expectations with honesty and empathy, drawing on her own experience as a language learner. Her efforts were recognised in 2024 with the India Excellence Award for Outstanding Excellence in English Language Education—a milestone that reaffirmed her mission. Looking ahead, she plans to expand the academy’s offerings to include personality development, public speaking, and accent training, transforming it into a complete platform for personal growth.
